The Back Room Gallery Artists’ Co-op is announcing their Grand Opening Friday May 4th, 2012. Thirty-five resident artists welcome you to their playground of artistic treasures of glass, wood, paintings, and more!
This event will rock Windsor’s artsy crowd with over 4,000 sq ft of traditional and very non-traditional works, all from local artists. The Back Room Gallery had its soft opening in time for Christmas and now invites you to enjoy an evening of food by The Keg, beverages, great conversation and lovely surroundings. This well appointed gallery covers all the angles from blown glass to hand turned wood to 3D photography, not your grandma’s art gallery.
“The Community has embraced us and we are pleased to open our doors to celebrate our success with Windsor”, says Chris Ford, co-founder of this artists’ co-operative. Just a few short months ago, Ford and four other local artists had the vision of a co-operative art gallery, each artist sharing the costs and work load. They soon drew attention and the ranks have swollen to 35 individuals, each with the same goal, to offer Windsorites affordable art of many types under one roof. Today jewellery, cards, fashion, felted works and some fanciful stuffed critters sit proudly amongst some of the finest art in Windsor – Essex.
The Keg has generously sponsored this event, bringing their signature great taste. “Doors open at 7 and will remain open until the food is gone and the art is all sold,” jokes Ford.
Join them at 4749 Wyandotte Street East Friday May 4.
Parking in the back.
